With the new version of the ScaleDynamics solution, companies with web applications will be able to run multiple containers on the same cloud resource.
To run web applications on the cloud, computing power resources are allocated to the application, and to simplify the task, applications are increasingly broken down into chunks or "microservices". Microservices are deployed in the cloud via "containers" using "dockers". Each container requires a computing power resource, also called an "instance" or "runner" by ScaleDynamics. On a runner, you can deploy your containers and run them transparently on the chosen resource. Runners are characterized by the amount of CPUs, storage size, RAM, cloud provider (Scaleway, Outscale, Amazon, Google, Azure, etc.) and geographic location.
With this new version of the ScaleDynamics platform, you can deploy multiple containers on a single runner simply and quickly, exclusive to ScaleDynamics. This allows you to better exploit a runner and manage your traffic growth step by step. Another important benefit of this feature is that you can significantly reduce your cloud bill, as you can add containers to an under-loaded runner in just a few clicks.
You can choose one or more runners to suit your needs on the ScaleDynamics console, from a very wide choice of providers, performances and sizes. You can also connect your own on-premise cloud resources to become runners, and manage your hybrid infrastructure - a second ScaleDynamics exclusive.
What's more, our real-time metrics let you track the performance of each container and runner. You can track CPU load, latency, number of requests and more. Thanks to a third ScaleDynamics exclusive, you can track and reduce the carbon emissions of your cloud activity. These metrics enable you to adjust your runners according to your strategy for reducing costs, increasing performance and reducing your carbon footprint.
